A Savior Is Born

Hey everyone!
Hopefully you had the best Christmas of your lives! I know this
Christmas was the best one yet. I love being a missionary so much
especially during the Christmas season, and I'm pretty sad that it's
over. There really is a special spirit that falls over the earth
around this time and it's super cool.

This week during the Book of mormon change challenge (bomc2) I got to
third nephi... Kind of behind but trying to catch up! And I got to 3
Nephi 1:13, where Nephi is pleading with the Lord because the people
are so wicked that if the sign of the birth of the messiah doesn't
happen, then all the righteous will be put to death. The scripture
reads "Lift up your head and be of good cheer; for behold, the time is
at hand, and on this night shall the sign be given, and on the morrow
come I into the world, to show unto the world that I will fulfil all
that which I have caused to be spoken by the mouth of my holy
prophets." How cool!! The savior, on the night before his birth, took
the time to comfort his people. Instead of being preoccupied with
himself and the daunting mission that lay before him, the Savior was
still Turing outwards. He always puts us first because of his
unconditional LOVE for us. That might have been one of the last things
he did before leaving his kingdoms above and descending beneath
everything, and he took the time to succor his people.

Christmas is super awesome! I love it! This Christmas was a little
different, as you could guess everyone was gone home this week so
Manhattan was pretty bare, but the Lord always provides miracles.
ALWAYS! We were able to still get members out with us and find people
(lonely college students with no where to go Winking face) life is good. Skyping
was fun too! So Christmas Eve we were going to I hop (think "the Santa
Claus") because we didn't have anywhere to eat and eating in our
apartment sounded even more sad, and we get a call from the sisters
and they are freaking out, they are walking around at like 7 o clock
and some guy dressed in all black followed them for like four blocks
and was getting closer so we had to leave I hop and go and drive next
to them until they got home. So miracle that nothing bad happened!

Love you all! Have the best week ever!

BOMC2

So this week has been so crazy and has just flown by! It's been insane! With finals week upon us I got to reflect on how grateful I am that I don't have to take finals! My heart goes out to all of the college students right now! haha I did actually take a final, we have been going to institute on Wednesday night with the branch and we had the final this week and had to write an essay (something that I haven't done for who knows how long) on the Old Testament and really the only thing that would hold me back from passing the class (and getting college credit haha) is I never completed the readings. Soooo if I could get Genesis through 2 Samuel read before the end of the year I would be set. Unfortunately that's not really going to happen.

Something that our mission has done, starting Thanksgiving and ending the first of the year, is we are reading the Book of Mormon as a mission. IT'S BEEN SO AMAZING! It's called the Book of Mormon Change Challenge, or in KWM terms, BOM C Squared. I am almost done with Alma (which is really behind) and it's been so cool. The spirit is so strong every single time and I learn so much! We have been highlighting different subjects (red- character of Christ, Green- The atonement and Blue-Faith) and it's crazy how much these subjects stand out. Especially the Character of Christ.

This week we also had Zone Conference and we talked about Spiritual Giancy (another KWM term) and really focused everything on making sure that Love for the Savior is the only motive that we have. President Bell gave an amazing talk on the Character of Christ and that we need to all develop the character of Christ. Always turning outwards never inwards. He gave all these examples (character of Christ by elder bednar gives all those great examples if you want to read it) and it was just super awesome! Then we had an ugly sweat contest and christmas party! Favorite quote of Zone Confrence "We gotta be super consecrated this morning so we can go crazy this afternoon" -President Bell. I LOVE THEM!

We also saw a lot of super sick miracles this week! We went on a few exchanges and were able to get to know everyone that is in the zone and get the transfer started off all great! I love Christmas time, and A Savior is Born works amazingly on softening peoples hearts! Every single time we show that video we always get the response of "It's so diverse" and I love that! It really shows that God is no respecter of persons! He loves every single one of us, no matter who we are, how old, where we are from, what we have done. It's so cool!

Love you all!

A Savior is Born

So this week has been another amazing week here in Kansas! And what's
even more surprising is that it's mid December and still in the 60s...
And sunny? Maybe they're on to something with the whole global warming
thing.... Haha but it's been nice, not complaining in the slightest.
This week was transfers and I got to stay in Manhattan so that's super
nice. I love this branch, (unfortunately we go on a 3 week hiatus
after this week) and everyone is so awesome! I love it!

We had a super awesome miracle happen yesterday! The sisters
investigator brought her friend to church yesterday and they stayed
for the whole block and he loved it! And the topics were the
millennium and missionary work! And he participated and it was so
cool! He's preparing for baptism on the first couple weekend in
January! So cool!

Some things I have been thinking about recently was from elder
claytons talk during the Christmas devotional. He was talking about
how the angel appeared to the shepherds and said "fear not" and how
while he was at the time talking to the shepherds to not be afraid of
him, the Angel. He was also telling us that we don't have to be afraid
any more. A savior is born and because of that we don't have to fear.
We have a savior and have no need to fear! So despite the craziness of
the world, and men's hearts failing them we can remember the Angels
words and "fear not".

If you haven't checked out the savior is born video! Go do so, its so
amazing and brings the spirit super strongly! Christmas.mormon.org

Love you all!

Christmas in Manhattan

So transfers are this week and I'm staying right here in Manhattan!
I'm so excited! I was pretty sure that I was leaving so I prepared
myself but I got good news and I'm staying! So that's pretty awesome!
I love it here so much! It's the best place ever and in so excited for
the coming transfer! I'm still with Elder French! It's going to be
good! The zone has stayed pretty much the same too so that's super
fun! Also ill be here for Christmas!

This week was super good. We had MLC on Tuesday so we drove down
Monday night. The meeting was so awesome! We talked all about a triple
digit vision. The vision they we have for the mission is to baptize
100 a month! And so we talked about being escalator missionaries and
not elevator missionaries (escalator always going up, elevators go up
and down) and how we can always be doing more that what's expected and
expecting the impossible (Luke 17). The meeting was 830-5 so we were
exhausted afterwords but it was good!

Then we got back home and we had to do stake reports with our stake
president which is always kind of stressful. You have to know
everything about everyone that is preparing for baptism and the people
that have been baptized in the last two years and how they are doing
and what the missionaries and members are doing to help them out. It's
intense but it's always an uplifting experience. Then we had zone
training on Friday which went super good, probably one of the least
stressful zone trainings of my mission. I trained on triple digit
vision and always inviting to baptism for a specific date every single
day! It was good and then we gave out zone shirts!

We had a super awesome miracle this week! One of our investigators
that has been coming pretty much to everything got his answer that he
needs to be baptized! So excited! We are meeting with him tonight to
set it all up and hopefully it will be this weekend! It's gonna be
awesome! I love it here so much! Glad I get to stay another six weeks!

Love you all! Check out a savior is born at Christmas.mormon.org!

The Thanksgiving Exodus

So this week was super fun and we had a lot of cool miracles. Because
of thanksgiving every single person that lives in Manhattan decided to
pack their bags and hit the road. It was kinda weird how quiet and
silent it was in this town. Everyday pretty much felt like a Sunday
afternoon in Provo. It was strange. However despite not having anyone
in town we were able to see some super awesome miracles!

We got this call from a doctor in Utah that hosted a couple from China
and they had taken them to the temple a few times. So we stopped by
and gave them a temple magazine and a Book of Mormon and set up a
church tour. They came to the church tour and we showed them around.
They thought it was all pretty cool but they didn't believe in God so
it was hard. Then we got to the baptismal font and we had invited them
to baptism and they weren't super enthusiastic about it. But then we
remembered they really loved the temples so we talked about how
baptism is the first step into the temple. And then we talked about
eternal marriage and they completely changed. They said that they
really loved the idea of eternal marriage and how there is life after
death. I'm so grateful to know that there is such thing as eternal
marriage and how blessed I am to have that knowledge!

Thanksgiving was awesome! We started by having our elders quorum
president come to the church and bring us and the sisters hot
chocolate and donuts and he brought his kid that is a non member and
we talked about baptism and he loves the gospel! So we are going to
try and get him baptized on Christmas Eve! #NocheBlanca. Then we went
to our second councilors house and had some awesome food! Best turkey
gravy I've ever had! So good!

Love you all! Hope you had the best thanksgiving ever!

Some wierd weather is Upon us in Manhattan! It's raining, but it's like 32 degrees so it gets frozen, so it's not snow on the trees it's ice.

Elder jones went home yesterday. Love that guy! Changed my life.

Our thanksgiving food. Super good.

Big Streeeetch ‏

So this week was another typical week in my mission. There was another
emergency transfer on Tuesday and elder Mitchell left to Topeka and I
got elder French! Just in case anyone lost count this is my 13th
companion on my mission and the 5th emergency transfer that I have
been apart of. Hahah but it's okay Because if I've learned one thing,
it's the lords work. Every companion I have learned something from,
and ever ET there is some miracle waiting to happen. So even though it
was hard to see elder Mitchell leave it definitely is stretching me a
lot more!! So that's exciting!

This week we had some pretty awesome miracles happen. We got this head
quarter referral and we went and knocked it and nobody answered, so we
knocked around and on one answered so we tried back a little later in
the day. When we knocked someone answered and we explained who we were
and that we had gotten a request that he wanted a Book of Mormon. He
wa shocked, he said he never requested it but he said that he was
super interested and had wanted a Book of Mormon for a while now, so
that was pretty cool. Unfortunately he is going out of town for
thanksgiving and we won't be able to meet with him until next week but
it's all good! Actually a lot of our people are going out of town this
week for the Holliday but it's a great opportunity to find the people
that don't have families and help them find the gospel!

Ive been studying a lot about charity recently and reading Moroni 7
and reading the institute Manuel that goes a long with it. Turns out
charity is a pretty important aspect of the gospel. Like it's one of
the most important attributes that we can obtain in this life. Love
for the savior and love for our fellowmen. Guess there's a reason
those are the two greatest commandments.

Anyways! Love you guys! Hope you are having the best week ever!

Ping Pong

So this week I have played an out of control amount of ping pong, haha
watch out for when I get home. I might have found a new passion haha
jk. So we are really trying to get more people into the church
building because it's super hard to meet with people in their dorm or
apartment. So whenever we meet someone their first commitment (after
read the Book of Mormon and baptism) is to show them the church.
Usually this is followed by a challenge in ping pong so they actually
show up. We played so much ping pong and then would show the
restoration video and point out the spirit in the building and
everyone is loving being in the church! So it's been awesome!

This week we finally got to sit down with one of guys that has been so
close to getting baptized for like three months! We fasted with him
and he's figured he knows he need to be baptized! He should be getting
baptized next weekend. And then we had another amazing miracle! The
sisters were passing off one of their investigators to us and it was
kind of awkward because they didn't inform him that a pass off was
something that needed to happen. So it wasn't going the best. So I
asked him if he would like a tour of the church, and he said yes. So
we all drove to the church and gave him a super awesome tour! And he
prayed in front of the baptismal font and it was super powerful! He
came to church and we gave him a calendar and he's super solid on
getting baptized on the 28th!

Life is doing super good. Getting into the Christmas season! We had
interviews this week and we were shown the "a savior is born" or the
new church 2 min video and it's amazing! It's super unique and not
like any of the other three so I'm excited to start using it in
missionary work!

So I've heard a lot about crazy that was happening in the world this
week, and I don't know a whole lot of details but it just seems like s
bunch of stuff is happening! And as we talk to people most people are
really scared. But as I was talking about it with my companion, it's
really just fulfillment of prophecy. In the last days "men's hearts
shall fail them". And as long as we stay true to what we know and not
what we don't know everything will be okay. God lives and is in
control!

Love you all!

Time Management

So if I've learned one thing on my mission it's time management. and
thats not a skill that I have always had. The first of the month is
usually pretty hectic. I don't think I got to really work in my area
until Friday afternoon! We had MLC on Wednesday so we had to spend
Monday and Tuesday preparing for the meeting (because preparation
always precedes power) and then we drove down to Wichita on Tuesday
night. Let me tell you something, driving down Kansas at night is
kinda sketch. It's completely dark and flat and it's just black
everywhere and you fell that you are in the middle of no where,
literally.

MLC was super awesome! Always such a revelatory experience. This time
we really focused on a "Therefore What" of the month of October (what
lessons were learned, what we need to change what is working what
isn't) and then also "Therefore What" of Elder Stevenson. We really
focused on the commitment pattern found in preach my gospel, really
focusing on promising blessings and then also creating a sustaining a
vision for ourselves and the people we teach! Those meetings are super
exhausting! 8:30-5... that's a long meeting! But it's so worth it!
Then we spent most of Thursday preparing for Zone Training, which was
stressful because we didn't know what we were going to train on all
day! But at the last minute we finally got something put together and
it went really well!

Thursday night was the K-state v. Baylor game, so everyone was at the
game, but we promised the Lord that we were going to work hard because
we hadn't had time to see anyone yet in the week. We committed and the
Lord provided! Funny how that seems to always work out. We were able
to see many people and they all committed to church and baptism so
that was another miracle! Despite everything being crazy and hectic
ultimately it's the Lords work and he will guide us to where ever we
need to be and he will help us through everything! So even though
things get stressful, they don't really because it's the Lord works
not mine!

Love you all! Thanks for the support and prayers!

Halloween with Elder Stevenson

So I have been meaning to mention in my emails the last couple weeks
that we were getting another Apostle in our mission! Elder Stevenson
came down here to the Salina Stake Conference so this whole weekend I
got to be with an Apostle of the Lord. We had 4, 2 hour meetings
throughout the weekend, which met a lot of sitting down and even more
spiritual experiences. It was the best thing that has ever happened!
He talked about a lot of different things and I could write a million
things about the things that he said but I think the main theme that
he talked about is trusting in the Lord. Recognizing that he qualifies
whom he calls and that if we had to do this alone it would be
impossible but because we don't have to its completely possible!

Also, I had another really unique once in a life time experience this
weekend. I got to sing with a couple other missionaries to the
apostle. We sand the EFY medley and it was pretty good, I mean i was
nervous as all heck but I think it went pretty well! That was
definitely a new experience that probably won't ever happen again! So
that was pretty awesome!

This week we saw some really awesome miracles! My new companion, Elder
Mitchell is super awesome and I love working around him! We served
around each other when I was in Derby. He was teaching these people
that moved to Manhattan when he left. We found them yesterday and they
are so solid! And then right after that we went to a former and he was
home and we invited him to come and have a church tour right then and
he followed us to the church and he loved it so much and is also
preparing for baptism! Also we went out to dinner with someone that we
have been working with a long time with members of the branch here and
he is also looking really good for baptism this month!
#NonStopNovember

I am so grateful for the opportunity I have to serve a mission, and to
be called to the place I am and to be serving with the people I am
serving with. As I listened to an Apostle of Jesus Christ I couldn't
help but feel his electrifying apostolic witness of Jesus Christ. As
he bore his powerful testimony of the restored gospel, of the reality
of a living savior, and of continuing revelation I literally felt the
power that he held. I know that Jesus Christ lives, that this is his
Church on the earth today, and I will forever be thankful for the
opportunity God has given me to gain yet again another witness!

Love you all so much!

212 Mojo

Another super awesome week in the KWM! I know I say that every time
but come on every week is just such a great week! So first, to explain
the subject line. This week we had specialized training where we were
introduced to this super catch concept of working hard. The quote that
they shared is this, "Water, at 211 degrees is hot, at 212 it boils.
and with boiling water, comes steam. and with steam, you can power a
train. One extra degree makes all the difference" It's such a cool
quote because it really helps us remember how hard we have to work
sometimes, but by putting in that extra effort, doing more then whats
expected and giving our ALL to the Lord we can have so much more
power! #212Mojo

Anyways, super cool things happened this week as well. We had a lot
more time to work in our area and not have to focus on meetings and
other stuff like that which was super nice! It's refreshing actually.
We have been able to see a lot of cool people. College people are
seriously my favorite! I love talking to them. So biggest miracle of
the week. (well idk about biggest but the one that sticks out the most
to me) happened on Friday. We thought we saw an investigator that has
been avoiding us and we promised the Lord that if we saw him we would
sprint over to see him. So we run across the street and as we get to
the other side we almost literally run into this former investigator
who dropped us at the start of school because he was too busy. Turns
out hes gotten used to the schedule and we starting to meet with him
again! Also the guy we thought we saw wasn't who we were looking for
at all!

Another super awesome miracle! Nechelle got baptized! It was the
coolest thing ever! After wards she told us "I can't believe i almost
said no to this" and when she came up out of the water she like
shouted "YES! That was awesome" it almost took away from the spirit
but she was so pumped you couldn't NOT feel the spirit! God is SO
good.

Anyways, transfers is this week! I'm staying another 6 weeks in
Manhattan which I am super happy about and my new companion is one of
my best friends on the mission! I am so excited, it's going to be so
sick! #212

Love you all! Thanks for the support and prayers! IT really does make
all the difference!

But He Still Loves Me

our flour fun...

Make sure that you turn the volume up all the way.

So this was a super awesome week, and as I start this letter I can't
even remember what actually happened. There was a lot! We have been
doing a lot of driving. Last week we had a stake P-day so everyone in
Salina came down and we played California Snowball fight which was
super fun, but also kind of stressful because we had to put it all on
and make sure that it was all going smooth so I definitely am super
excited for a nice chill pday with nothing to do.

Then there was this huge mix up that some missionaries in Salina took
our phone so tuesday we had to drive like 45 minutes to pick up our
phone. Then the next day we had another meeting with the stake
president and guess who took our phone again. So we had to do another
drive to pick up our phone again. haha but it's all good.

Then we had a talent show, where we were signed up to do synchronized
dancing. But we didn't have the talent to do that (trust me, we tried)
and so we chose to do a lip sync so i've attached a nice little video
of what went down, don't judge me though. We had no choice.

One day we were trying an investigator and he didn't answer, and we
were in this apartment where literally everyone we tried was super
interested so we knocked a random door and found this awesome couple
from some small town in Indiana and they were nuclear scientists
looking for a church. Pretty cool talking to them. I love serving in a
university branch everyone is here trying to learn and improve and its
so awesome.

Sorry if this was pretty boring I was trying to find some fun stories
to tell but hey some times there just isn't any, but it's all good. I
love everything about a mission, it's the best thing ever.

Love you all!

I'm Going to Wichita ‏

So this week has been such a spiritually awesome week! So much to get
done and so little time it was a little ridiculous but it's all good.
everything went super great. We drove to Salina on Tuesday before our
meeting in wichita to coordinate with some other missionaries down
there on what we were going to say and present. That was fun, then we
car pooled down to Wichita and had such a great meeting. We talked
about having a "Next Step Mentality" or always progressing ourselves
and everyone we come in contact with, "Spiritual Giantcy" (yes that is
a made up word but thats what we do here in Kansas, which basically
means becoming a spiritual giant) and "Working with Members" and how
to unite more with the members here in Kansas.

Then we got home and had a coordination meeting with the Stake
President of the Salina Stake. He is so awesome! He is so OTOI (On Top
Of It, another made up word here in Kansas) and then we get a call on
the way home after the longest day of our lives and are requested to
go give a blessing to a new born baby. That was a first. SO we went
and gave the blessing and as we were leaving the thought hit me, that
baby was with God like 22 hours ago!! That was probably the coolest
thought ever.

Then the rest of the week we planned Zone Training which took a lot of
planning and wore us out but it turned out awesome and I think
everyone ended up having a blast! Other then all of that stuff we have
seen a lot of cool miracles. Last monday we had a few minutes before
Family HOme Evening started so we went and tried this potential and
ended up finding some pretty cool college students! Miracles are
raining!

Love you all so much! THanks for the prayers and support!

Better Than Christmas

So this week has just been a spiritual downpour the entire week it was
so incredible! It started off with Zone Conference which was super
awesome, probably the best one of my entire mission. We really focused
on how Faith is not only a principle of action but a principle of
POWER and how you can gain that power when you teach. (which
ultimately means that you give your will to the fathers at all times)
super awesome! It was also kinda stressful the night before the APs
call us and informed us we had a training to give and a role play to
set up so that was a little nerve wracking but i mean for what it was
it went pretty well!

We have had some pretty cool miracles, one of them we were trying a
potential investigator and we accidentally knocked the wrong door and
this family opened their door and let us in right away. They have been
in America for one week, we shared the "because of Him" video and the
spirit was super strong and through their broken english told us how
they felt the spirit. It was awesome, unfortunately they aren't
university age so we won't be teaching them but hey doesn't even
matter.

Then we had general conference, and holy crud was that the best thing
that ever happened. We had the sacred opportunity to watch THREE new
apostles be called and we were able to sustain them all and feel that
powerful witness that they are called of the Lord. Also I wish I could
go back and re-listen to Conference and counted how many times they
said "trust in the Lord". That and keeping the sabbath day holy (which
must be one of the most important things the Lord wants us to know
right now because its everywhere, must be a pivotal commandment we
need to be living). But it was comforting to know that we can always
trust in the Lord, that everything will be okay, even when it's hard
and tough the Lord is there for you and will always make sure that
everything ends up better then you could possibly imagine. Also I
loved President Uchedorf's talk on how discipleship does not need to
be complicated, it can be super simple! I could write for the next two
hours about the things learned at conference but just remember TRUST
IN THE LORD and KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS and everything will work out!

Also in the university branch there was this competition to see who
could make the best meal, so we had super lunches between sessions so
that was another miracle, see it all does work out!

Love you all so much! Have the best week ever!

-Elder Hunt

1 Year of Miracles

So this week I hit my 1 year mark. Its so crazy to think where I was a
year ago and how much I have changed and how many things have happened
in one year. Its out of control how many amazing things have happened.
Whats even more out of control, however, is how fast it went. I wish
time could just like stop for a little bit, well maybe not stop but
slow down would be real nice.

This week we experienced so many miracles its out of control. I also
really was able to strengthen my testimony of fasting and the power of
prayer. So from last week we had a guy cancel his baptism the day of
his interview and wouldn't get back in contact with us. It was kind of
frustrating just because of how awesome this guy was and how much we
wanted to help him progress. However, it just wasn't happening. So we
decided to do a fast. We started our fast on Tuesday night when we got
home around 9:15. Then we did our nightly routine of calling people
and all that good stuff, then around 9:55 we get a text from the guy
telling us he's sorry and just been super busy with school (first
round of tests at KSU... cant express how grateful I am that I don't
have to worry about that) and he would get back to us when we had some
free time. So that was a miracle, I mean within 30 min of starting our
fast we were able to see that? whaaa? theres no way God isn't watching
over us.

So the week goes on, and nothing we don't hear from him at all
(despite all of our stalking efforts... btw missionaries are pretty
much pro stalkers....). So we go on with our week like we normally
would seeing even more miracles. Get this we were waiting for a lesson
to start and as our guy shows up, two other people come over and want
to hear what we have to say. They came up to us, thats rarity in
missionary work, and its even more rare if they are actually
interested (Which they were!!) Sunday shows up and we are fasting
again because of fast Sunday and stuff like that. We start greeting
people and BOOM he walks in to church and loves it! GOD LISTENS TO OUR
PRAYERS!

Anyways it's been such an awesome week to see the hand of God in our
lives. I mean nothing that happened this week was anything that I
could have done, it was all Him and I just got to be apart of it. So
amazing and awesome and I just cant express in words how grateful I am
to be here.

Recently we were able to go to the temple and before we started the
Temple President came out to us and gave us a little testimony of
missionary work and temple work. He told us that "The lord is not a
long distance administrator, He is involved in every little tiny
intimate detail of each and every one of our lives" And this week I
was able to see that testimony revealed through another one of God's
amazing miracles.

Love you all so much! Have the best week yet!

Life is a Football Game

So this week has been really good! It's had its ups and downs like
every other week but overall it was really good! It started with
transfers. Boy that was a mess, so instead of everyone going down to
trainers like it usually does we had some people can down there. So we
drove down To Salina to help everyone get on the van and stuff like
that and stayed with the zone leaders down here and worked and had a
blast. Then everyone finally gets back to Salina but guess what? The
luggage is about an hour behind and we can't leave until that all gets
worked out so we are just chilling at the gym playing music and
sharing stories about the last transfer. Then it got there and since
we had two brand new companion ships in our zone there was no way we
were gonna get 5 people's luggage and them into two cars, luckily
another companionship was driving down to Manhattan so they could take
some stuff, it all worked out but it was freaking crazy,.

Then we continued to meet with our person that was going to get
baptized this weekend. It was looking really good and then at the last
minute backed out of the interview. It was a bummer and we weren't
bale to get in contact with him. So it's been a real bummer but it's
all good trials of faith happen and it will all work out, we are
trying to get in contact with him. He's still pretty solid just going
through a trial of faith. Trials of faith have to happen, it's part of
the plan!

Then here's where the fun part kicks in. My companions last areas
bishop gave him two k state tickets and we got approval to go! It was
the best thing ever and we were supposed to meet up with our guy
getting baptized but he was with family. It's kinda a bummer but it
was super awesome!

Then Last night we had a super awesome miracle. We got last minute
news on a meeting for recent converts and returning members and we
were able to get a car together with a bunch of people and go and it
was awesome!

Well that's about it this week! Love you all,

It's Raining Miracles

So this week has been such a great week, and more hectic then ever. I
promise just when something starts to slow down, another thing picks
up all over again. We are continuing to go on exchanges with other
missionaries and just how it turned out I really only got to work in
my area once this week. It was crazy. But super fun! I got to meet so
many great people in junction city and all the people that are
preparing for baptism in the next couple weeks!

So many awesome miracles have happened this week and the coolest part
is all of the, are just things that couldn't happen without God
watching over us and being involved in every single detail of our
lives. It's so crazy, I love it! So we are teaching that guy I talked
about last week who called and tried to get involved with institute,
we have been teaching him and he's such a good guy. This morning we
had a church tour with him and prayed in front of the baptismal font
to see if this is what he needs to do! The spirit was super strong!

A lot of the other miracles happened when I was on exchanges in other
areas and because I was only there for a little bit i don't remember
them all but there was so me awesome ones. The biggest one was with my
previous companion elder Christiansen, we got to go see this part
member family and help her resolve her concerns that she had and she's
getting baptized on Saturday! And just like everything is going so
good around here. God is super good!

Something I have been thinking a lot about this week is the examples
that we are and how they can change everything. As we go over and
teach at dinner appointments and with members of the church I am blown
away with how important it is to be an example. Walking into homes
where the gospel of Jesus Christ is being lived has such a distinct
feeling. It's crazy how big our examples are to everyone whether we
know it or not. It takes so much sacrifice and dedication to live the
gospel of Jesus Christ, even the small things like keeping the sabbath
day holy or going to institute or seminary make such a huge difference
in being that example. I love how all the commandments and things God
asks of us are for our benefit. We have such a loving Heavenly Father
it's amazing!

Love you all so much!

I didn't take any pictures this week so this is my favorite quotes right now! The mind is a powerful tool!

Go Wildcats!

So this week has probably been one of the most busiest weeks of my
life. I swear it wa shuts go go go all day everyday and I love it!
However if there was just a few extra hours in the day that would be
perfect. Also I've definitely had some of the best nights sleeps of my
entire life too. So this week we went to the temple and that was such
an amazing experience, I can't even begin to describe how powerful
that experience was! I'm so grateful that even though we don't have a
temple in our mission we are still fortunate to go a few times. Count
your blessings!

Then after we drove home from Kansas City we immediately got in the
car and drove down to Wichita for a meeting we had all day Wednesday.
The meeting went great and we all received some amazing revelation,
however we didn't get back until Thursday so really our week didn't
start until Thursday, and even then we had to spend a big part of the
day preparing for Zone Training in Friday which was also great! Then
we went on an exchange with some elders that love pretty close to us.
And that was super fun, because it was the first home game of the
football season there was this huge fair that we had a booth at and
just talked to a million people. And then that was pretty much it.

Now for some miracles! So this guy that just moved here to college
accepted an invitation to come to FHE by one of his dorm mates, he
came and we set up an appointment with him. At the end of the
appointment we gave him a blessing and the spirit was soooo strong!
And then another guy had a friend that was a member back in Kansas
City where he used to go to FHE with every Monday. The family he used
to go to FHE with told him he should check out institute, well guess
where he moved to? RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE INSTITUTE!!
Miracles we met with him a few times and he's a great guy!

Anyways this weekend was crazy with the football game, and despite
being a hard core BYU cougar fan, I am starting to have some wildcat
pride. (Sorry Mom) it's so much fun being up here during football
season. There is just so much excitement and it's just a great place
to be serving. The lord is working some amazing miracles in this neck
of the woods!

Love you all!

Gone Fishin' ‏

So this week has been one of the best weeks of my mission. It's been
awesome! After everything got settled down from the emergency transfer
and update. I'm not in a trip anymore. That guy went down to Wichita
area so it's all good now! We went on a few exchanges with people from
the zone. We got to drive down to junction city like everyday so that
was crazy. Lots of driving. We went on an exchange with missionaries
down in Salina and we had to meet in Abilene which is like a 45 min
drive. But it's been fun!

The best part of the week was definitely when I got to drive to Topeka
and see someone I taught there get baptized. It is so amazing to see
the change that has taken place. I remember when I first talked to him
we left the lesson and I turned to my companion and said "he's getting
baptized" that was back in March. A lot happened since then but he
called the missionaries a couple weeks ago and said that he had fasted
and gotten an answer this the needed to be baptized so I drove down
there because I love that guy. One of the best feelings in the world.
I love it so much, makes everything worth it, all the hard times and
the ups and downs so worth it!

This week is going to be crazy! We have meetings pretty much every
single day and we are going to the temple tomorrow! So excited for
that you have no idea. It's gonna be an amazing week!

Love you all.

A Series of (un)Fortunate Events

So this week was a pretty crazy week filled with ups and downs and
sides to sides. So much has happened in so little time. But it's great
because it's the lords work and it will still move toward no matter
what crazy things comes up. So the beginning of our tale starts way
back to last Monday. We have these Monday night calls where we do some
accounting to President Bell and we were informed that we needed to go
on a week long exchange with a companionship in the zone. By the way
week long exchanges are pretty uncommon, and definitely the longest
I've ever done. So we finish the call and head to bed, we go to
district meeting and inform the companionship we were going on a week
long exchange. It was pretty stressful because I stayed in my area and
I really have no idea how to get places so I'm pretty sure like half
of our miles were used on u turns and wrong turns. But that's pretty
normal.

We also had interviews this week with president bell and let me tell
you something, I love that man so much! I wish my interview could have
been ten times longer. It was so amazing. He is so inspired and is
just the best person ever. Plus we are the same height and we always
talk about how it's perfect hhahha

We switch half way through the week and I go to the other area to work
there for a little bit with the other missionary who is awesome! We
had a great time and saw so many miracles! On Saturdays afternoon I
had a realization that I had been asked to give a talk in sacrament
meeting in my ward. So I prepared for that and switched back for the
hour so that I could give my talk. This is where a miracle comes into
play. As I was up there I noticed these four guys that had walked in
that I didn't recognize (side note, school just started so there is a
lot of new students that moved back into the branch) and I felt the
need to basically share the entire restoration lesson and then tie it
into my topic. I shared the first vision and the spirit was so strong.
Afterwards I went up and introduced myself and they were all college
kids that weren't members and just Showed up! So grateful for that
miracle! And the plus side they are awesome and LOVED what was shared
about prophets and the Book of Mormon.

Then we switch back and we are at dinner, I get a call from my
companion informing me that he was getting emergency transferred and
that I was getting a new companion. Nothing new that's happened to me
a bunch in my mission. Then we get another call informing us that one
of the elders we were exchanging with was leaving too and we were
going in an trio companionship. So this puts me at 12 companions in 11
months. It's been crazy but whatever I'm super excited! Something that
came to my head last night as I was praying. I was praying about ups
and downs and I came to the realization that because of the "ups" and
Christ the downs never have to be really down! I love that! I know
this is the Lords work and he's in control so we can know the downs
are never downs!
