Missionary Work is The Best Work
This week has been freaking awesome! I don't have a lot of time this week to write a lot but I just wanted to share a quick miracle with you all! So last week I think I shared about how we had fasted with our investigator for baptism. Well that just helped him have the strength to get baptized. He said it like everyday this week that it was because he fasted he really wanted to get baptized. GOD ANSWERS PRAYERS! It is so freaking awesome! I know that every prayer is heard and answered. even if it doesn't seem like it. IT IS!
I am also so excited for conference this week. We tell everyone that we meet that we have a living prophet and we actually get to hear him speak this weekend! I am seriously so excited to hear what they have to say to us.
Love you all and I will write more next week!
HAVE THE BEST EASTER EVER! and Remember HE LIVES!

SPIDER!!!!!
So this was the scariest thing that I have ever done. I couldn't breath for a couple seconds. no joke hahah
Tenacious Topeka
So this week has been super awesome and SUPER busy. We had Specialized Training on Wednesday and we were fortunate enough to get TiWi's. Some of you might be asking yourself what the heck is a TiWi. Well imagine having an automatic back seat driver with you at all times. It tracks your speed, your acceleration, your breaking, how fast your turns were, if you have seat belt on and then sends alerts to the Mission office if you break any of those. So those are really fun. I love them. (I know that sounds sarcastic but they really aren't that bad... because honestly we should be doing all of those things anyways sooo)
We are working with a 16 year old kid. He just moved to Topeka. His Mom and Step- Dad are members so we had dinner over at their house and he was so interested in learning more. He's awesome. So we have been at his house everyday this week because he had spring break and he didn't have anything going on! We would go for a walk or something with him everyday. It was so fun! and by the end of the week he asked if he could move up his baptism date to next saturday! Obviously we were SUPER excited!
Then we went over the next day and he was a little discouraged. He had been told that he was already been baptized and shouldn't do it again and a some other things that weren't true. We quickly identified that those things were true and that he was going through his trial of faith (which we told him was going to happen sometime when we first met him) We invited him to fast with us yesterday. He came to church and right before I asked him if we could announce his baptism in the meetings so people could come and he was like.. "Uhhhh.... YES!" and it was such a miracle! Fasting and prayer is REAL!!!!! I love it!
We have also been able to get the Because He Lives video before it come out. Let me tell you something. IT'S SO FREAKING AWESOME! Like He Is The Gift and Because of Him but this one will be like a 6 month thing that will be advertised and different videos associating with this one will come out. It's so sweet! The spirit is just so strong everytime I watch it! Look for it athelives.mormon.org this saturday!
I KNOW HE LIVES! AND LOVES YOU AND ALL OF US!
Have such a great week!

So we are the YSA missionaries in the stake but also just regular missionaries as well. So we have taken on the task of planning all the FHE's for Monday Nights. Last week we did glow in the dark volleyball. Which was something that I was hesitant about because I have planned like 3 glow in the dark activities in my days as a youth and they all sucked. but we took on the task nonetheless. IT really helps that someone had some black lights and glow in the dark tape (and by had.. they bought it for us because there are some awesome people in Kansas) and it was actually really successful! and we made glow in the dark punch and it just was a great turn out and great people!
I BELIEVE IN MIRACLES (You better have sung this!)
This week has been such a great testimony building week for me! So we have this man in our ward that has been moving between Kansas City and Topeka every weekend for the past couple of months so we weren't able to really get to know him all that well. But last week sometime we got a call saying that his Dad was in the hospital and wanted a blessing. So we went down to the hospital and gave a blessing. The doctors were saying that he had a 1 in 80 chance that he would make it out alive. He was knocked out cold when we gave him the blessing. We left pretty quickly so that the doctors could do what they had to do.
Then like two days later we get another call saying that he is coherent now and wanted another blessing so that he could hear it and it could give him comfort because he couldn't remember the last time. We went down there and found out his chances went from 1 in 80 to 1 in 30. Which in itself was a miracle. Within 30 hours of our last visit he was transfered from the ICU and into a regular room and was doing physical therapy that day. It really grew my testimony of the Priesthood. It really has been restored and it really is God's power on the earth today. It's a very humbling realization and It's amazing how much comfort it brings.
We also started working with this 16 year old kid named Nate. He just moved here from Hutch Kansas and is such a great guy! He came to church and stayed the whole time and met some friends his age and is super excited about the Church.
I know that Jesus Christ lives. He is very much active in each and every one of our lives! He loves you and cares about you so much! I have never felt his love so much in the past couple of months. He is always there for us and will never forsake us!
Love you all!

This week has been such a great week! We have been able to really solidify our teaching pool out here in Topeka and we have found a lot of awesome people that are just solid human beings. I think the biggest thing that I have learned is that the Spirit is the best teacher ever! We had set up a church tour with one of our Investigators named Mark. He's kinda apprehensive about organized religion but he agreed to a Church tour. He specifically told us that he didn't feel comfortable around people he didn't know so we had plans for the church to be empty. However, we forgot that that night was the Blue and Gold banquet for scouts, also Young Mens and Young Womens and it's also the one night that the bishop and his councilors schedule all of the interviews. So it was PACKED. and all the kids were running around and it was just chaotic and I was kind of annoyed but said a little prayer asking this to go well. So we ended up going into the chapel and you could still hear the basketballs bouncing from the gym. But we said a prayer and taught a lesson. He was able to feel the spirit so strongly and I just testified to him that this is where Christ wanted him and he sat their in silence for a bit but eventually he said "I can feel it. It's different here" And we invited him to pray and it was just such a miracle that despite everything we had going against us the spirit just blew it all out of the water and testified to him the truth! SO AWESOME! I LOVE IT SO MUCH!
We had several other experiences this week that was remarkable similar. The spirit is real and he will be there when truth is present. I also learned that it's just not about me at all. It's all about what the Lord wants, and when you align you're will with the lords that's when faith is changed from a principle of action to a principle of power. It's a life long pursuit but something I have really been trying to work on!
This week I also gave a talk on Baptism at a baptism. He was 8 years old and his family is awesome family in the Sherwood Ward. It was awesome being able to be apart of that even for just a second.
Another miracle (a little bit more of the temporal miracle but still a miracle none the less). IPADS coming to the KWM may 27, 2015! It's gonna be good!
Love you all so much! hope you have the best week ever!

5 Months in Kansas!
So yesterday was my 5 month mark here in Kansas and I feel like I have been out a week and I'm just trying to slow time down just a little bit but it's not going very well! haha
As I think about what happened this week I can only thing about how much God loves each and every single one of us. Nothing huge or monumental happened this week for me and no really awesome stories but the small acts that happen as a result of prayer and faith are amazing. God truly does know who I am and knows what I need to learn and grow and because he is perfect his timing is perfect and its awesome. Even the little things like someone talking to us or even just having someone wave back at us when we wave. I know they don't seem like big things but they really truly are!
I know that God lives and he is literally our father in heaven. He knows us perfectly and is constantly watching out for us. President Eyring said "You and I have faith that the way to rise through and above trials is to believe that there is a “balm in Gilead” and that the Lord has promised, “I will not … forsake thee." and the Lord ALWAYS keeps his promises. It is so comforting to know that the Lord will not forsake us. He Lives and He cares.
Love you all so much!

These months are just flying by! I've been out for 5 months already what the... like almost a quarter of the way done which isn't that long of a time... but it feels like i've been out for like 3 weeks.. if that. Yeah district leader trainer. Not super unusual my trainer did that when I was here, but it's not super common either. It is a lot of work. it's kind of like I was just getting used to being a missionary and the Lord said, "uhhh don't get to comfortable" and then just like added 100 new things to do. My district is 8 people. Responsibilities would be like calling every companionship every night and checking what they did and talking about the area and giving them things to do the next day. Doing interviews with the sisters and exchanges with the elders. accounting to the zone leaders every night and doing the weekly numbers. and then also conducting District meeting on tuesdays and give a training on that (which is kinda wierd becuase I'm the youngest misisonary in the district besides my comp and I'm like training which is a little strange but its all good) and doing the baptism interview for all the people getting baptized in my district. and that's pretty much it! Its actually really fun and everyone in my district is AWESOME. so it's pretty easy. I still like my comp. he's not really anything like me and still awkward but he's trying hard and I've already seen so much change from him so it's all good!
Obedience is my favorite topic to teach! Elder Holland says "Obedience is the first law of EVERYTHING." and more of a missionary sense but it would work well with life "Tell me how your obedience is and I'll tell you how your mission is going to be" which could probably be changed to how your life is going to be. Missionaries have to be EXACTLY obedient. Like thats something that is really stressed. and the best part about it is that when we are obedient to a commandment God blesses us and when God blesses us we want to be even more obedient and then he blesses us more and then it's like a never ending cycle of blessings and obedience! WAY AWESOME. also Mosiah 2:41 is a pretty good scripture on obedience!
