TORNADOOOO‏

Just Kidding... there wasn't any tornados this week but since I am in Kansas I am constantly waiting for one to take me away to Oz. We have been told probably everyday by at least one person that there is going to be a tornado tonight. The weather in Kansas is so messed up. Literally the weather changes like every hour. Its really hard to dress for that, especially on bikes. One of the members told us that you could smell a tornado in the air when it was coming and I've smelled some pretty funky things in the air but that might just be the Frito Lay plant frying there potatoes.

So we are the Young Single Adult missionaries in the area and every Monday we plan a Family Home Evening for all the YSA and we played Zombie Nerf Gun wars. We set up a bunch of tables and chairs and had a strobe light and it was so much fun. We related it to the plan of salvation in that we all have to go through life and part of our condition as mortals is to sometimes feel in the dark but we always will have the help sufficient to survive. It might have been a stretch but it was fun and every week are getting more and more people

But anyways this week was such a great week in Topeka! Our Recent Convert is doing so great. He signed up to go to Navoo for a youth conference where they will be visiting church history sights and going to the temple and his mom is doing family history and since she's the only member in her family she is finding so many of her family members. The spirit of Elijah is definitely helping that family grow and become just super solid members!

This week we had Interviews with President Bell and it was seriously the best thing ever. The AP's gave a training on having Vision, Passion, and Power and how having a vision on who you want to become will help you have the drive and power you need to accomplish everything through the strengthening and enabling power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. And the Interview with Prez was so great. He shows so much love and gave me some great things that I need to work on to become better!

SOOO I would like to end with a quote with one a quote from one of my favorite people that may or may not be coming to our mission soon. This has been such a great quote that has helped me a lot "So be kind regarding human frailty—your own as well as that of those who serve with you in a Church led by volunteer, mortal men and women. Except in the case of His only perfect Begotten Son, imperfect people are all God has ever had to work with. That must be terribly frustrating to Him, but He deals with it. So should we."

Have a great week! Love you all!

Priesthood Power is Real!‏

So this week has been pretty awesome! We have found a lot of awesome people. They were pretty much all referrals from the Spanish Sisters (since if they find anyone that speaks english they have to give it them to us) but usually they don't work out but this week all of them have been pretty awesome. One of them has been dead 13 times and was like wondering why God had kept him alive for something. I mean how perfect is that?

So the main story that I would like to share with all of you actually happened last week. The sisters asked us to give a blessing to one of the people they were teaching. So we get there and turns out she is like the funniest person in the world. She's the best! She has been investigating the church off and on since 2007 and knows it's true but has a problem with commitment. She also had some some word of wisdom issues that she wasn't willing to give up. Then randomly like two weeks ago she just gave it up cold turkey. She realized that she needed to be a role model to her kids and just gave it all up! So anyways. We gave her a blessing of comfort and peace and when we were done she said "What was that?" And I was like uhhhhh what? maybe she thought it was weird or something. but then she went on to say, "That was crazy! I felt the power come from your hands and just spread throughout me and that was the coolest thing I have ever felt! That was powerful! I'm shaking" It was seriously the best thing ever! It's amazing how powerful the priesthood is and it was a humbling experience to be able to witness that.
That experience mixed with hundreds of others strengthen my testimony that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is his Church on the earth with the same power and authority that was on the earth in Christ's day!

Love you all! have an awesome week!

I can't believe that the school year is almost over! What the heck happened with all that time. so strange. I remember when they kids were getting out a year ago! so crazy! I do remember this time of year being really crazy with sports and all the things that every one has to do for the end of the year! but glad to hear everyone is keeping busy. I mean it would be a pretty boring life if you just sat around all day. Kansas is home of people on disability and no cars. It's crazy how many people don't do anything. They literally sit around and sleep (shhhh. I mean I know that's what I did when I was at home.) it's just a sad life for a lot of people and it's really hard because they don't have a car and getting them to church is just a pain sometimes. but life goes on. definitely eye opener on why it's important to work hard and set goals for yourself to grow! Even if it's small goals.

Fasting and prayer really do work. I have really grown my testimony of fasting this week as well! It was just one of those times where having a new companion and being a district leader was just stressing me out way to much and I felt weird and didn't like it at all. So I was praying and the first thing that came to my mind was to fast. So the next day I fasted and it was awesome! like as soon as I finished we just saw so many cool things happen and things started to happen and I felt better and I was just like super relieve and felt awesome. FASTING WORKS! have you listened to Elder Eyrings talk on fasting. It was super awesome maybe my favorite talk. I did get the piano music! It was awesome... maybe another answer to the fast! I love all those songs. now i just have to figure out when I can play them but mondays will be chalk full of piano playing! Thanks for those! like my favorite songs! but everything is going good! District leader isn't to hard, It's fun and all the missionaries I serve with are so awesome and hard working. Can't really complain!

Fasting and Prayer Work‏

So a lot has happened this week but I don't really have all that much time left on the computer! But there are so many awesome things that happen every single week! So this week I really strengthened my testimony of fasting and prayer. It was about middle of the week and I just got super overwhelmed by a bunch of different things and didn't quite know what to do. It wasn't a super big deal or anything I was just frustrated a little bit. So I knelt down and prayed and asked God what I needed to do. The first thing that came to my mind was to fast. So the next day I fasted. and like all day the day just went by really awesome and the weekend turned out awesome and I just know that God cares about all of us. It doesn't really matter how big or small the problem is he is always there for us.

Another talk that really stood out to me this last general conference was President Eyrings talk. He did an awesome job talking about fasting. This quote was super awesome and I loved it so much! "The brief time we fast every month and the small amount we offer for the poor may give us only a small part of the change in our natures to have no more desire to do evil. But there is a great promise, even aswe do all that we reasonably can to pray, to fast, and to donate for those in need:

“Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy rearward.

“Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am.”

HOW AWESOME IS THAT? I love it so much!

Have an Awesome week!

Follow the Prophet‏

So General Conference was the best thing that has ever happened. I LOVE hearing the testimonies of the general authorities. It is always so  powerful and really is such a spiritual boost for me and everyone else. There were so many great talks. I think my favorite quote that was said (there was so many but since this is the only one that I could remember at the top of my head I figure this is probably the one that stuck out the most) It was "A saint is a sinner who is trying". The more I think about it the more true the statement stands out to me. None of us are going to be perfect. It's actually part of the plan NOT to be perfect but we were given Savior that already paid for everything. All we have to do is try and want to be better. The atonement is so awesome! I started the Book of Mormon again and I am focusing on the Atonement. There wasn't been a page yet where at least something isn't highlighted. SO AWESOME

This week we also went to the walk with Christ is Lawrence. They decorated the church building to go through Christ's life and it was so well done you couldn't even recognize that it was a church building. It was so awesome! I LOVE EASTER! it's the best thing ever. I KNOW THAT MY REDEEMER LIVES! He knows us, he cares about us and he will never forsake us. and he always keeps his promises!

Love you all!
