"By Small and Simple Things..."

Hey what's up everyone!
This week has been such a great week! So many cool miracles that have happened. We started off the week by taking one elder to the Hospital because he injured himself playing basketball, so I played nurse for the day trying to get this Elder into the car without bending his hip and it was difficult, and then we were sent to the wrong hospital but eventually everything worked out and he is find now. It was a interesting start to the week.

I seriously don't really even know what to say anymore because each week feels like a couple hours. But we were able to see a ton of cool miracles and have a lot of people in our teaching pool. We have been working a ton with the recent converts in the ward to find people and it's been really cool! There is this 10 year old kids that has a friend that we always talk to when we go over and play some basketball which is fun. And a few others.

This week I also gave a talk (that I didn't know I was giving until he announced my name) about Alma 37:6 "...by small and simple things aregreat things brought to pass..." and how the little things in our lives can make the biggest difference. As we choose everyday to make those things a part of who we are, and not just what we do we can have the spiritual foundation needed to overcome anything that is placed in our way. I'm thankful that there are small things to help us accomplish the big things!

Love you all so much!

Kansas = Home 🌪

This week has been so crazy! I don't even know where to start! So we
had the official transfer this week and I am staying in Topeka with
Elder Hilborn! Super excited for the next six weeks (probably 7).
Which is so great, Topeka is the best place in the world. I never
would have thought that I would say that, but it is sacred ground.

Because of the weird transfer there was a trio in the zone and I got
elected to drive down one missionary to pick up his new companion. So
for the seventh time in the last six weeks I made the trek down to
Wichita. So basically I serve in Wichita part time haha  but it was
good. let me tell you the drive down to Wichita is beautiful! The
flint hills are so cool! And we were able to talk about lessons
learned on the mission. It was some powerful reflection!

Then we went on exchanges which was really fun! We saw a lot of cool
miracles and met this one girl that met with missionaries like 3 years
when she was going to Emporia State and she remembered how awesome the
elders were and she went on a church tour and it was super spiritual!
Then we saw a cool miracle in our companionship, last week we
contacted this woman and gave her a book of mormon and we went by this
week and she told us she has been reading the book of Mormon and wants
to be baptized!!! MIRACLE!!!! So awesome!

Then yesterday was out of control crazy! We had church and then half
way through we remembered that we had to bring dessert for a mission
presidents devo! Through some miracle we happened 4 boxes of brownies
and made them as quick as possible! (also note to self: always grease
the pan... or they stick) and bring them. by another amazing miracles
the dinner that we were going to had an extra pan of brownies (GOD IS
SO INVOLVED IN THE LITTLE THINGS haha) and the mission presidents devo
went well! Needless to say it was crazy but everything worked out...
like it always does!

Love you all mucho!

Choose Joy

What's up everyone!
This week has been such a good week! It started off with meeting the
new mission president and his wife on Tuesday! They are awesome! Such
great people and have a wonderful spirit about them. They went through
a slide show of their lives so that we could get to know them!
President McCuistion is from San Bernadino (originally) so that was
cool! It was a great meeting with great energy!

Then Wednesday was MLC, which was so good! It was definitely different
then it has been in the past, but it was a good different. We all came
prepared with sheets to Update the "KWM How To" book (Which is
basically a book with the best practices for the mission and how to
best accomplish certain things!) and it was just a great meeting.
After the meeting President told us that we should go on exchanges
with a certain companionship in our zone so we booked it home to plan
zone training because we weren't going to have anytime the next day.

The exchange went super good! Had some really good experiences and got
to talk a lot about the book the continuous atonement. If you haven't
read that book you should because it will blow your mind. If you ever
have any question about how the atonement can apply to your
personally, read the book! It's amazing! There is quote that I love,
it says "Heaven is not a prize for the perfect, but a future home for
those willing to be perfected".

Then we had zone training and we talked about be consecrated
missionaries and giving it our all, and desperation (always being
desperate for success) and progression and how we can help other
people's progress. It was a good meeting and then we were able to see
some amazing milagros!

This week I have been thinking a lot about the scripture, "By small
and simple things are great things brought to pass". As I was
pondering what I could do during sacrament to be better that scripture
came to my mind. I was thinking about how many times the Lord has had
to teach me that lesson. (haha) but it really is by the small and
simple (Church, Prayer, Reading scriptures, being kind) that the Lord
can make great things come to pass. I know for me it get's easy to put
it off because its so small, but that really is the building blocks of
eternity. Those small simple patterns are how we progress and become
more like Him.

Love you all tons!

See ya later

This week has been such a unique week! But it was really good! As I
mentioned last week our mission president and 20 missionaries went
home this week. Some of my best friends went home which was hard to
watch but it's all good! On Tuesday after we had a zone lunch, Elder
Mitchell and Elder Hilborn and myself road tripped it down to Wichita.
Elder Mitchell wanted to stop in Junction City to say goodbye to some
people since he served there and then we drove to Derby to say goodbye
to people. Then we stayed the night at the Assistants house which was
super fun!

Then on Wednesday we had our farewell transfer devotional. The whole
mission came down to say goodbye, it was like a huge family reunion!
We had our typical folk jam fest (Which we do every time, basically
during lunch we have different missionaries perform songs that they
wrote) and then we had a bloopers real (basically all the funny videos
that have been made) and then we had the actual devotional. It was
very spiritual and sad to say goodbye but hey its all god!

This week COBON DUPREE SMITH WAS BAPTIZED!!!!! It was awesome, it is
so cool to see some one change. When we first met him he was just a
punk smoking on his porch but now he is a member of the true church!
He loved his baptism and Elder Labrum came up to baptize him!
President McCuistion came to the baptism as well and he is the best!
Such a loving guy and has the best spirit around him! So excited for
him!

This week should be another great week, it's crazy how quickly weeks
go by. This week I have been thinking of a quote that Sister Bell used
to say all the time. It comes from a talk by Elder Worthlin it is
"Come what May and Love it!" I think that goes well with finding joy
in the journey, always choosing to be happy and loving life even when
it's hard. It's never supposed to easy, it gets hard but as we love
where we are at the Lord will help us through it!

Love you all!
