A small town far far away🌪‏

So this week was super great! I know i say this every time... but
where the heck does the time go. I literally feel that not enough time
has even happened for me to have anything to write in a letter. It's
out of control. Anyways, this week was (wait for it) awesome! I
learned so much this week. I was able to go out to this small town
down in southern Kansas and interview this 11 year old for baptism. I
love giving baptism interviews because you can see how pure their
testimonies are. They are generally pretty nervous but its so awesome
because for the first time in this life they can bare their
testimonies of the restored gospel. She was awesome, and while her
family wasn't members, her best friend was and she knew that was
exactly what she wanted. I love the gospel! And we went to her baptism
on Sunday and her 12 year old friend gave a talk on baptism and holy
cow is it so cool to hear the testimony of one so young. So I had to
do this long drive down to Wellington Kansas and the whole way there
is fields and cows and flat and its pretty nice to get out of the
"big" city.

Other then that we had some pretty cool lessons this week. We met with
one of our investigators at the church who also brought her niece and
her other friend and we had a great discussion on the need for
priesthood authority. and the coolest part was our investigator was
actually teaching part of the lesson to her family! It was pretty
cool! We gave talks in church this week which was fun, I gave a talk
based on President Eyring gave this last priesthood session "You are
never alone in the work" I definitely learned some great things!

This week is transfers week. I am staying here, but my companion is
going to Salina. He is pretty awesome, going to miss him fo sho, but
Elder Brasher is going to be my new companion. I don't know him all
that well, but we have been on the MLC (mission leadership council)
together for about 8 months now so I have talked with him quite a bit,
never just like personally.

Anyways, life is still great, Kansas is still the best!

Love you all!

Winter In Summer

Hey everyone! This week was super good, we had interviews with Prez
and it was awesome! Love that man. My comp have to stay the whole time
to organize it and sis. Bell always brings oranges and I'm pretty sure
I had like 30 oranges. Idk if that's good for me but it kept me full!
And then we had another meeting the next week and that was solid. It
was for the district leaders and zone leaders.

We found this super solid kid, his dad is a less active member and was
super rough at first but we started coming over and teaching the kid
and we committed him to live the word of wisdom and the law of
chastity and he said it would be a struggle but then his dad was like
" oh trust me, you can do it if you keep working" and his dad has
given him so much support! The gospel is so cool, we are actually
playing basketball with him today during Pday so that will be fun!

Then last night we had a mission presidents devotional where all the
new and returning members come and bare their testimony and it was
super awesome, and our investigator came and brought her family! And
it was super spiritual! Unfortunately they had to leave early but it
was super good!

Anyways life is Gold the weather is awesome, it's like 70 degrees!!!
Don't even need a coat.

Love you all!

Winter In Kansas

The Big 2-0

So this week was a blast! Thank you all for the letters and emails and everything for my birthday! You are the best! anyways. This week we got to see some super sick miracles and we got to spend like 20 hours listening to Elder Evans of the 70. We also went on a boat load of exchanges so the week definitely went by super super quickly!

The first miracle is Linda (Who has been coming to church a bunch) came to stake conference this week with Elder Evans! It was a super spiritual experience for sure! During the intermediate hymn we stood and sand "Israel, Israel God is Calling". And she was singing with all her heart. It was super cool and the spirit was so strong! So that was pretty cool.

And then we found this twelve year old that was meeting with missionaries before and we set an appointment and talked about him getting baptized. He said that he was super close to getting baptized at one point but his family said that he needed to learn more. We asked if we could come by and meet his Mom and he said yes and we have an appointment coming up this week! At the end of our conversation he said "I have a question. Do you guys still do sports up at the church" and we said yes of course and his eyes lit up and he  was super pumped to get back into church. So that was super awesome.

Then we got to be with a General Authority all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning. He taught so many great things and talked about his life. I swear I know the guy personally now, he loves to teach using stories of his life and I have listened to so many stories I could tell you his life! But it was super spiritual and after every talk he always bore his witness of Christ which was so powerful! I love listening to General Authorities testimonies. You can't help but feel the spirit.

This week I also went on an exchange in a Spanish area and we got to speak a lot of spanish (except I didn't... if only I took Spanish class more seriously) But I was pretty proud of myself for understanding a majority but I couldn't speak anything. But they are very spiritual people so that was fun to be apart of!

Anyways, Life is good, God lives and Missionary work is the best!

Love you all!

Love is the Motive

Hey everyone!
This week has been a blast! The first week of the month is always hectic! We had MLC, which was awesome. Really great things are getting done! We have a vision as a mission to get 100 baptisms each month and we are constantly working on what we can do to make it happen! There was some great revelation that was received and its going to happen. The biggest thing we talked about was having faith and not fear. It's easy to do things because you have to or out of a sense of duty, but that rarely produces the wanted results, we have to act in faith. Knowing that in the Strength of the Lord we can do all things!

Then we had Stake Coordination with the Stake President. He's such a great guy and is so missionary minded, he loves the missionaries and constantly trying to figure out what he and the members here can do to hasten the work of salvation. Then we had Zone training that we had to give and prepare. We basically just role played the entire time, and then at the end showed a slide show of all the missionaries baptism pictures and played the song "Savior, Redeemer of my Soul" and it was a very spiritual experience! It's so amazing what the Gospel does to people, it totally changes someone's countancne!

This week Andres got baptized! He was someone I was working with in Manhattan since day 1, and he finally got baptized! I didn't get to go because it was far away but i love that man, and consider him one of my best friends! I'm so glad he finally gathered enough courage to make that sacred, sacred step!

This week we have Elder David F. Evans coming to our mission and on Friday I pretty much get to spend all day with him , from like 9:30am - 8pm. So it's going to be such a great day of revelation and faith building! We have been studying like crazy for him to come, and i just can't wait!

Life is good! Weeks are going by way to fast, I feel like it was monday just yesterday! But I love it out here!

Love you all!

Work Hard Play Hard

This week felt like half a day... At most. It was crazy that it's
already Monday again. My companion and I are both super confused about
how fast time is going. I hit my 16 months today, which in itself is
unbelievable. I still feel like I just first got off the plane a
couple days ago. Seriously, it's a weird feeling! Thank goodness eight
months is a long time!

This week we had 0 meetings which was super nice! We just get to work
in our area and it was great. It started off getting a referral from
the Spanish sisters that we contacted. They are eighteen and just
moved from Mexico but wanted to go to the YSA ward. So we went in and
taught the restoration, and the spirit was super strong. It was cool
because at first they were pretty standoffish but then the spirit
really opened them up.

And then we had a lesson with someone at the church. She's this old
woman that loves Jesus, we went over the role of the Holy Ghost on
conversion and how she has felt the Holy Ghost in the past, it was
cool because we followed up with her Book of Mormon reading and she
said she was reading a little. But then she proceeded to tell us a
whole Book of Mormon story that she loved and it really stood out to
her.

Then we met this other referral from a member in derby! She is going
through so much right now and has aLl these problems but she said that
she still takes 1 hour every day to study the bible and we gave her a
Book of Mormon and read some with her and she loves it! Life is good!

Well anyways! Hope you have a great week!
Love ya!
