Then we started teaching this guy named Marcus. HE IS SO COOL! He has hair that goes up like 8 inches in the sky and he's so interested... and then we found out that his Grandpa is a Less Active member that lives right across the street and he's so awesome! He's like 60s, African American red hair and loves video games. He's a baller. Also he's like a super solid missionary. He told us "If you guys don't want to pray in my house, bring new people over and we can teach them how to pray!" So cool! Love that whole family! Marcus really wants to know the truth and is always asking about questions and more reading assignments! He had some big concerns come up about anti and we were said "Yeah.. Satan has his army and tries to bring you down, but just like Satan has his army, God also has an Army... and that's us" and he was like wide eyed and the spirit was so strong and he opened up and completely got rid of his concern! IT was awesome!.
This week in the car we have been listening to a lot of talks and we got to this talk called "Why 1820?" by Hyrum W. Smith. In it he talks about why he believes that the Restoration had to occur in 1820 (https://byui-media.ldscdn.org/byui_ft/devo_audio/1988_09_27_ADV_Smith.mp3 Here's the link if you want to hear it... it's pretty sweet!) and in it he tells as story that I thought was so inspiring! So back when David O' Mckay (I think) was prophet there was a stake youth fireside going on and he decided to attend out of the blue. The stake president was giving his remarks when the prophet walked in and I'm sure the stake president almost had a heart attack, but he kept going with his remarks. About half way through with his talk he stopped and said "I feel impressed to tell you that before the world was, all of you were captains and general fighting for the Lord" and then he went on with his talk. When he was finished he looked down to see the Prophet just staring at him, so after the meeting he quickly ran to the prophet and asked, "Did I say something wrong" and the prophet said "No, just inaccurate. There was no captains in attendance tonight.. only generals" and then Bro. Smith goes on to say, if we could have a glimpse of who we were (and really are) it would make the hair on our neck stand up! I thought that that was perfect, we are all children of God and were chosen to come here at a specific time! Now is the time to prove ourselves and find out who we really are! Just a spiritual thought of the week that I found super fascinating! If you have some time you really should check out that talk!
Anyways! Hope everyone had a great Easter! Mine was pretty unique! It snowed last night! Like 2.5 inches and then was sunny all day long.. It isn't very often that you get to see purple blooming flowers with snow, or SUPER green trees all covered in white snow. It was pretty beautiful and definitely made for a great Easter! HALLELUJA!
Love you all!
